DuraFence is part of the DuraBoard Composites line — our private brand of premium composite building materials for the Pacific Northwest climate.
Most composite fences look the same online. The difference is in the construction. DuraFence uses capped composite — a polymer shell wrapped around the wood-plastic core — which significantly outperforms cheaper uncapped products in moisture resistance, scratch resistance, color retention, and lifespan.
Choose Oak (warm wood grain), Smoke Gray (modern neutral), or Black (bold contemporary). Both Aurora (capped wood-grain) and Brush (textured) finishes are available across colors.
DuraFence is offered in three colors and two surface finishes, giving you six distinct looks to match your home’s architecture and your personal style.
Cedar
A warm, traditional wood-grain tone. The closest aesthetic to natural cedar without the maintenance. Best for traditional homes, country properties, and warm landscape palettes.
Smoke Gray
A modern, neutral grey that complements contemporary architecture. Pairs well with white trim, natural stone, and minimalist landscaping. Our most popular color for new builds.
Black
Bold and contemporary. Maximum visual privacy. Pairs especially well with cedar accents, modern landscaping, and homes with dark window frames. Slightly warmer in summer sun than lighter colors.
Aurora — Capped Wood Grain
An ultra-realistic wood grain texture with a polymer cap for premium protection. The most popular finish for residential applications where the look of natural wood matters most. Available in all three colors.
Brush — Lightly Textured
A subtler textured finish with a smoother profile. A more contemporary look, often chosen for modern architecture and commercial installations. Available in all three colors.
Screen colors vary from the actual product, especially for Smoke Gray and Black. We recommend booking an appointment with our team about your project and seeing our samples in person at our Surrey showroom.
Many homeowners combine colors strategically — for example, Smoke Gray panels with Black posts and caps for a contrasting modern look, or Oak panels with matching Oak gates for warm continuity. Our team can help you visualize the combination during a free consultation.

DuraFence is designed as a privacy and decorative fence system. It is not a load-bearing structure. Do not use as a support column, pillar, or beam. Do not climb on panels or hang heavy objects from the fence. These uses void the warranty and create safety hazards.

DuraFence supports two installation methods, both designed for standard carpentry tools and skills.
Project Size | DIY (2 people) | Professional Install |
60 ft (small) | 1–2 weekends | 1–2 days |
80 ft (typical) | 2–3 weekends | 2–3 days |
120 ft (large) | 3–4 weekends | 3–4 days |
Standard for ground installations. Dig a 300mm diameter × 600mm deep hole (deeper for soft soil). Set the post, pour C25-grade concrete, and verify plumb in all four directions before the concrete sets. Allow 24–48 hours for concrete to cure before installing boards.
For installations on existing concrete patios, slabs, or hardscaping. Anchor a steel base to the concrete using stainless steel expansion bolts. Slide the aluminum post over the base. No digging or pouring required.
DuraFence is designed for capable DIY installation. That said, professional installation is recommended in three situations:
Professional installation also ensures warranty compliance on installation requirements (proper post depth, expansion gaps, fastener torque). We can connect you with certified DuraFence installers in Metro Vancouver. Call (604) 765-3589.

Residential Use | Commercial Use |
25 years | 10 years |
Important distinction: the 25-year warranty is our financial commitment to replace defective product. The composite material itself is engineered to last 30+ years under normal conditions when properly installed and maintained. Many composite installations continue performing well beyond the warranty period.
